NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION

If your child is new to Edmonton Public Schools, you can register for school online. Visit the Division website to learn how to register for school.

Thank you to all the families who pre-enrolled before the deadline to help our school get ready for 2025–26!

We are happy to inform you that, based on available space, all students who registered or pre-enrolled before March 19, 2025, have been accepted. We look forward to seeing your family in the fall!

Nellie Carlson is a Level 2, Closed Boundary school. As outlined in Division regulations, the only new students accepted to our school during pre-enrolment are:

Resident students who live within the designated primary attendance area.
Siblings of current students who will be returning to the school the following year, unless otherwise determined by the Superintendent for a particular school.

If the student you are registering meets one of these criteria for the 2025-2026 school year, please register them online (new students)

Following the close of pre-enrolment at 4 pm on March 19, 2025, the school will only accept resident students who have newly moved into the attendance area or resident students eligible for Kindergarten.

Additional documentation may be required, including additional address documents, or immigration documents for students who are not Canadian citizens.

PLEASE NOTE: We are unable to accept Property Tax Bills, Drivers Licenses, Bank Statements, Mutual Funds or Retirement Saving Plans. We will accept the following:

electricity bill
natural gas bill
water, garbage pickup and sewer
mortgage document with proof of home insurance or
lease agreement with proof of tenant insurance

Nellie Carlson assigned as 'Overflow School' for designated students from George H Luck School

Nellie Carlson is an overflow designated school for George H Luck. Resident attendance area students from the George H Luck must first register at their designated school. If your child is part of the lottery process at George H Luck and is not selected to attend the school, they will be able to attend Nellie Carlson School.

Siblings

Siblings of students who will be returning to George H Luck the following school year will also be able to attend Nellie Carlson School if they are not selected in the lottery process.

Confirming Registration Submission

Once you have submitted your completed student registration form and supporting documents, we will review all of the documents. This does not mean your child has been enrolled at the school—we will contact you to let you know once your child is enrolled.

We will contact you if we need clarification about any of the documents you submit.

For Junior High registrations—once we confirm your enrolment, we will reach out to you in regards to complementary course choices.
